About Wombats Art

Wayne is Wombats Art (WBA). Firstly, the name came from Wayne and his wife, Judy, when they were traveling around Australia. Their caravan and 4WD were affectionately called “Wombat”.

Wayne drew and painted various memorabilia whilst traveling and hung many of his creations in his ‘man cave’ on their return. After running out of space, he decided to sell or trade some of his work.

Wayne works mainly from photos taken by his wife, friends and even acquaintances who have requested paintings of special places, animals etc. etc. He prefers to draw/paint from photos as he says his imagination is not that good!

His medium is graphite and watercolour with the odd acrylic on larger pieces. His work is usually bright and cheerful and tell a story. His quote is: If a child smiles when viewing a piece, then it’s okay!

With no real formal training, Wayne’s style has just developed over the years. Most pieces are copied onto good quality card and registered, with a maximum 12 copies per each original. This helps to keep the prices down.
